Every loving and caring parent wants their children to grow up to be successful in life and in all aspects of their relationships. However many parents have no clue how to go about teaching and inspiring children about healthy and happy relationships.

The secret is that you need not teach your children; you need to show them how healthy relationships work. This is the key to your children having quality and lasting relationships throughout their lives. Here is the parenting advice which will help you to guide your children so that they will have successful friendships and other relationships in their lives.

The First Relationship
The first relationship that your child will experience is the one he or she has with you and your spouse. Child parent relationships and that everlasting bond will help to teach your child about life and how to relate to others.

You must always take time to connect with your children. Even though your job might be demanding and you have a boss or supervisor constantly breathing down your neck, you simply must understand that your relationships with your children are more important.
You need to take the time to talk to your children and really listen to them as well. Communication is very important to healthy child parent relationships.

Parenting advice: The best way to converse with your kids is to get down to their eye level. Even if you sit on the floor and allow them to stand, you will have the eye contact which is the key to quality communication. Being a parent means that you have to always consider what your children say and feel. This helps them develop quality communication skills which will help them with all of the relationships that they will develop in life.

Support Sharing
All healthy relationships involve sharing. It is essential that you encourage and inspire children who will readily share with others. You can spend some time coloring in a book or on construction paper but you must share the same box of crayons. This will not only help the child understand how sharing works but also will strengthen the child parent relationships.

Plan Play Dates
Play dates are a great way for children to forge new friendships. Kids love to play with other kids and they not only learn how to develop relationships but how to maintain them as well. Play dates also help to keep your children active and become more imaginative. They can also be great for you too as you will have the opportunity to meet other parents raising kids around the same age as yours. You might be able to strike up a friendship or two as well.

Revel in Your Relationships
The old adage that children learn what they live is one hundred percent accurate. If they have happy, healthy child parent relationships when they are small, they are more apt to be raising kids with quality child parent relationships when they are adults. Spending time together reading, talking and play will help to establish a strong bond that will help your child in all aspects of their relationships.

Your relationship with your spouse and other people will also guide your children’ understanding of how relationships work. Constant arguing, cursing or other abusive behavior will have a negative effect on kids who won’t understand quality and healthy relationships. Being a parent always means being an example. Inspiring kids to have healthy relationships throughout their lives isn’t easy but it is the best thing to do if you want your children to have happy lives.
